New Projects and General Update January 2026

Having attended a workshop late in 2025 on taking images, printing them and then making a drum roll book I have been ‘bitten’ by this!

Rather than images sitting on my hard drive or occasionally being printed to hang on my wall I have started producing handmade books. I have the initial one made on the workshop. But have now, using that experience, produced another one of the same size at home ‘solo’ using images from a trip to Greenalnd that I had been going to send out externally to print a book. More satisfying than sending out to a printing house.

I had some images of a local waterway that again I was going to send out externally to make a zine. But adjusting the instructions from the recent workshop I have instead produced a slightly smaller 21cm x 21cm handmade book.

These last two books have been put together using home printed images, end paper and grey board purchased locally and also book cover paper from the same outlet. But now I have been looking at images all around me or on my hard drive that I can print onto similar weight paper and make the covers so that the books are even more hand made.

As at today I am working on another set of images based around ‘Rust’ as the next home made book.

With the assistance of some smaller scale book making from a workshop a few years ago I am revisiting those options as well.

So 2026 is likely to see a number of handmade books produced.

In addition I have found a subject to photograph as a new project for 2026. Finally I have looked again at what I taken and adjusted my subject themes for this year. Watch this space!
